Live Party/Event Silhouette Artists

Besides being an amazing silhouette artist, Leona is also a caricaturist, face-painter and illustrator of several children’s books. In her silhouette work she amazes her audience by creating a likeness of a person’s profile in 5 minutes or less with no pre-drawing, use of lights and shadows, or tracing. Using just black paper and scissors, Leona just looks and cuts a profile of her subject, usually producing two silhouettes at a time, which she then quickly adheres to a 5×7 high quality piece of white cardstock or watercolor paper.
Leona has cut silhouettes at weddings, festivals, parties, and many historic events through New England, including appearances at Alfred, Maine’s Shaker Village, Historic York Village, in York, Maine, and Strawbery Banke in Portsmouth, NH.
She has many repeat customers who find her at events each year to update their collection of her silhouettes when a new family member is born. She also does many custom silhouettes each year, through her Etsy shop and through contacts who seek her out or know her from local events. She enjoys sharing the history of silhouettes when she works and has even been asked several times to reproduce copies of historic silhouettes.
