Live Party/Event Caricatures

Celestia has been drawing caricatures since early childhood and has been getting paid to draw them since 1992. She graduated with honors from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she won the Lois Sudler Prize in the Arts for her cartooning. There she got her start with caricature legend Irv “Quickdraw” Finifter and New Yorker cartoonist Tom Chalkley. She now lives and works in her hometown of Las Vegas, where she illustrates and does live caricature both independently and with her significant other, fellow cartoonist Sundini. When not working private events, both can be found doing airbrush caricatures in the Excalibur and Venetian hotels for Fasen Arts, Inc.

Celestia can render a black and white caricature in about 3-5 minutes and specializes in nailing likeness while also pleasing the subject. For color work, depending on time allowed, she uses either airbrush or the chalk and glove method–both of which are exciting to watch as they unfold and also yield lifelike hues and shades. Your guests receive a one-of-a-kind souvenir along with some witty conversation and the the thrill of being in the “hot seat” while the crowd watches the caricature develop. Celestia’s caricatures have entertained at events ranging from the VIP room at a U2 concert to the black-tie pre-inaugural party for Maryland Governor Parris Glendening to the most casual company picnic.
