Ruth is a versatile and personable artist who enjoys capturing a likeness in a sitting of 5 minutes or less. Her most frequently heard comment is “AMAZING!” There is no casting of a shadow, tracing or even sketching. Ruth works her magic with just black paper and scissors, using close observation and hand-eye coordination to create profiles. She is generally considered one of the top 4 or 5 professional silhouettists in the country. She has an extensive resume of events completed, ranging from private parties and weddings to historical society functions, museums and corporate affairs. She loves to answer questions about this historical art form she helps keep alive for new generations.
